Out of My Comfort Zone

There is a challenge at Stamp TV to make a Shabby Chic card.  It was definitely a challenge because I am not an artist and cannot think out of the box (or shabby).  But I did give it a try and would love to do another one - just not now.  In fact, this is probably my last post for maybe two weeks.  I will be without stamping supplies for about that long.. So Happy Memorial Day in advance.   Okay - on to the card.

The digital image is by Lineart.  The lace and two buttons are my mom's so they are antiques - just to make the shabby chic authentic ! LOL

Just Monkeying Around /Multi-tasking

I used a digi by Designed2Delight.  After coloring him, I added crystal effects to the inner tube.  I don't have a water embossing folder so I used a Fiskars plate and embossed the old fashion way, one line at a time.

The rick-rack is stacked ontop the gingham ribbon.

Beary Sweet Summer Day

This is Faith's latest adorable digi.  I printed him out onto GinaK's textured Tan cardstock and it  gives a little hint at fur,  then the nose and feet pads are pieced in. Used the Versamark pen to do some tone on tone  around arms, legs, etc. to give some depth.   I think I will make a few more with "thinking of you" as a sentiment, then send them all on to OWH.

Just Ducky

Thought I would post just a fun card that I made for a grandson yesterday.  My daughter and I were talking about OWH http://operationwritehome.org/, the one million cards, and  how much the cards mean to children when they receive them from our deployed heros. She told me that even our 3 year old grandson carries around the cards that I send him and we see him every few weeks. Check out the OWH website and hopefully you will want to get involved too.

Sailing Over the Ocean Blue

There is just something about the sea and sailing that is appealing - at least to the eye.  I love this ship by Clear Dollar Stamps.  I used a DP for the background, using turquoise ink and a dabber to change the color of the blue a bit.  The compass is embossed with copper EP.

Beautiful Wings

It has been ages since I used this stamp by StampinUp.  But I do love it.  I had fun with the sketch at Sweet Stop http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/ cutting out a flower from some DP instead of cutting out an oval.

I sprayed the butterfly wings with a glimmer spray and popped up the flower and then the butterfly on top of the flower.  Lots of challenges for this card:

Father's Day - Day to Relax

I'm making Father's Day cards to send off to Operation Write Home.  I remembered having this digital image by Bugaboo that I have never used.  Thought it would make a great Dad's Day card.  I always think hammocks should be mesh so I pieced some mesh onto the hammock and colored it a little with yellow pencil.  Cloud paper is digital paper by Doodle Pantry. "Dad" is GKD.

Time For The Tooth Fairy

It is so exciting for kids to lose their baby teeth, especially their first tooth.  I have 4 grandchildren who are going through that process and a 3 year old in the family who want to be like her siblings!
Here is the latest weekly digital by Faith at Designed2Delight.  I don't know that she had the tooth fairy in mind by that is this fairy's role in this card.

What is a fairy without sparkle? so I added Stickles to her wings, heart and flower centers.

Butterfuly Bookmark
