There are so many cute digital images to choose from at Doodle Pantry . Each month Laurie Wilson comes out with so many wonderful set. This card features one of the images in the Quirky Frog set that was released in February.
In fact for a few more days, you can get this set free with purchase. But hurry - offer ends the 24th.
For my card I used one of the pre-colored images. I made this card while I was making all the Valentines for my family so it really helped to have the image already colored. I gave it to my future SIL. My daughter said he loved it.
Did you make a card for the challenge at the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge? That ends the 24th also and you receive the beautiful antique phonograph set just for playing. Get busy.
Challenges:
Cuttlebug - buttons
Ribbon Carousel - Love is in the Air
Really Reasonable Ribbon - spring colors

God's Mercies Are New Every Morning
The mercies of God are new every morning. I love that. I also love this sentiment (Our Daily Bread Design). One of my first sets by Gina K Designs was Guiding Light. It is still a favorite of mine for masculine cards. I use the lighthouse often. So lots of favorites in this card.
I embossed the blue paper with waves but my main image was so large, it covered most of it. The weathered wood paper is GKD digital paper. On the main image I did DTP, direct to paper, with the turquoise and pink ink pads, making somewhat of a sunset effect.
Challenges:
Clearly i Stamp - get inky
Pink Gem - dies
Word Art Wednesday
Timeless Tuesday - use red
Craft Us Crazy - use favorites

All Is Well That Ends Well
Yes, it's me. I did not get to go to my daughter's after all. I fly standby and the flight ended up being oversold. Checked on flights for the rest of the day - could not get on. But my daughter called and said that my granddaughter became ill that evening so it was probably good I did not go. In fact, yesterday, I got sick too. So now I am convinced it was good I did not go.
So Sunday night I consoled myself by making some cards. LOL
I used the MFT sketch to make three cards, using up some pieces from my "to be used later" box.
This card will, of course, be going to Operations Right Home to thanks one of our deployed heroes.
The heart and "thank you's" are a digitasl found at OWH .
Entering a few challenges:
Frosted Designs - bold colors
Timeless Tuesdays - seeing red
Great Impressions - heart

Ready for Spring
Now with Valentines Day behind me, I am ready for Spring. But because our neck of the woods is not ready yet, I am going to head south to warmer, sunnier weather for a few days. Yes, tomorrow I will be flying off to see one of my daughters and her family so there will be no blogs posts til the end of next week. And since it has been almost a week since my last post, I thought I better get something up today (which turned out to be this evening because I had two of my precious grandchildren here for the past 36 hours.
I made nine cards Thursday, using up some scraps and some of my "to be used later" images. All of the cards are going to OWH. Speaking of OWH, I found the perfect Priority box. It holds, comfortably, 40 A2 cards. It is 9 1/4 by 6 1/4 by 2 1/2.
I used to use boxes from Paper Zone but now with no PZ store, I have been using Priority envelops. This box was not in the display rack at my post office but I was talking to the person that was helping me about how I wish there was a box so I didn't have to try to cram the cards into an envelop. She picked up this box from behind the counter and said "Like this?" Perfect.
So it is filled and my DH has instructions to mail it Tuesday while I am gone.
Now, back to the cards I made.
I love this bear by Designed2Delight. I printed out the scene on white and then printed the bear on textured brown cardstock by GKD, cut him out and popped him onto the grass which I colored with pencils. On a couple cards I added a "think of you" or "missing you" sentiment but on some I just left off any sentiment .
The sketch is The Craft's Meow
The flowers are felt cut out with a Cuttlebug die.
Do any of your recognize the BG paper. It is as old as the hills Stampin Up paper.
Some challenges:
Stamp and Create - spring
Our Daily Bread Design - animals
PartyTime Tuesday - 3 of one thing
Raise the Bar - anything
Craft 4 Eternity - bears
Hope you are having a great 3-4 day weekend. See you next week after I get back.

Sentiment as the Focus
Sometimes it is nice to make a card with no stamping and just a great sentiment or verse. So while I was making all my Valentine cards (BTW, I finished all 22) I ran across this digital sentiment saved in one of my files and decided to combine it with a scrap of digital DP left over. The sentiment is a verse that has been offered by Word Art Wednesday sometime in the past.
The sketch is one I found at My Favorite Things a few weeks ago.
With all the heart and love challenges, this card qualifies for the following:
Thanks for looking.
Ribbon Carousel - love
Party Time Tuesday - love
Crafty Creations - black, white, plus one
Simon Says - have a heart
Speedy Fox and Friends - love

Majestic and Beautiful
Look what was in a tree near our house Sunday morning.
He has been visiting that tree all week but this was the first day with a blue sky. I love seeing the Bald Eagles and we see the most in February. Often there is a mature one and a young one. They don't get their white feathers for several years so you can tell which one is the young one. Did you know that "bald" really comes from a Latin word that means "white headed".
So this photo inspired me to make a card today.
The image, papers, and sentiment are all by Doodle Pantry.
You must check out Laurie Wilson's store. She has some wonderful new free digital images besides all her fantastic digital sets for sale. And I love her colored images. This eagle is one of those she has colored. Talk about a quick card - printed everything, cut, glued and I was done. Of course, this card is going to one of our deployed Heroes in my next box to OWH.
The sketch is last week's sketch at Tuesday Morning's Sketches
Other Challenges:
Designer's Choice - bright colors
Craft Us Crazy - cutting machine (Cuttlebug)
CASual Friday - song inspiration (America the Beautiful)

Love, Sweet Love
One of my granddaughters, age 3, loves pink and girly things. So for her Valentine, I used pink and candy = sweet. The candy images are from a digital set by Clear Dollar Stamps and for the life of me, I can't find the maker of the sentiment. It is one of those pieces that have been in my "to be used later" box.
I popped up the heart and two gumdrops, one higher than the other. Designer papers are scraps. Cardstock is Bubblegum Pink by GKD and Pink Pirouette by Stampin' Up.
Sketch is at Timeless Tuesday
Other Challenges:
A Blog Named Hero - paper piecing
Craft Your Passion - pastels
Digital Tuesday - hearts
Party Time Tuesday - love
Friends of Speedy TV - valentine

Bright Happy Birthday
Taking a break from Valentine cards, I made a few birthday cards for kids which I will be sending off to Operation Write Home soon.
I love paper piecing this cute stamp by GorJuss .
So good to use some bright colors. February is always a hard month for me. I get really tired of gray days. I feel the blahs. In fact I usually cut my hair and add highlights every February. It usually helps perk me up a bit. Anyway, love these colors.
Challenges:

Valentine for SIL
It is sometimes a challenge to make Valentines for guys other than my husband. Oh, I think I need to explain that one ! Haha. I am talking son in laws. Cards for sons and grandsons can be more on the mushy side but I don't want to be too gooey for my SIL's.
This set by Unity seemed to fit the bill especially with the scrap piece of DP and the non-traditional colors which show up darker here than they really are. I used Vanilla cardstock. Brads are peach brads that have been in my stash for ages.
Sketch is at What if Wednesdays
Other Challenges:
Craft Your Passion - pastels
Great Impressions - have a heart
Simon Says - anything
CASual Fridays - letters creatively
Marks Finest Friends of Speedy TV - valentine

February is for Hearts and Valentines
February is heart awareness month. I never paid attention to that before my surgery, but now things like that jump out at me. With Valentine's Day in February, I am doubly aware of hearts. Last February, I was the speaker during our counsel time at Awanas. It was fun to show photos of the heart, have a few kids listen to their hearts with a stethoscope, and to talk to them about the different ways we use the word heart. The word "heart" is found over 760 times in the Bible and usually it refers to the inner person including out mind, will emotions, etc. as in loving God with our whole heart. But the heart of God - how incredibly awesome to think about God's heart toward us. I love the quote by Michael Card on this card. I stamped a Verve heart on the sentiment because for me the sentiment (by Our Daily Bread Designs) speaks volumes of the heart of God.
The flowers are also ODBD, cut out, curled, and then I put brads into the centers. I used red, rose, and pink inks for the flowers but the shades don't show up well in the photo.
I also used two colors of green - moss, and artichoke for the swirl and leaves.
the sketch is at Tuesday Morning Sketches
Other Challenges:
Party Time Tuesday - anything goes
Timeless Tuesday - vintage
Frosted Designs - love and heart
Great Impressions - have a heart
Word Art Wednesday
Simon Says - anything

February Is Here
You can have this set just for playing the challenge at the Doodle Pantry Digital challenge. How awesome is that?
This is just one of the many new sets that Laurie released today. I chose to use the outline version. The horn is printed on antique gold metallic paper. I love music and musical themes. Used a scrap of musical score DP and the ribbon is by Ribbon Carousel. The black note is a Cuttlebug die cut. This is actually a Valentine. Inside I stamped "I Love You".
Check out all the new sets at Doodle Pantry. This next set shown is free with purchase. I LOVE it.
