Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge at Aud Sentiments this week. The challenge is to make a card for a child and include a sentiment. I thought this digital set would be great for a child's card.
Doesn't this caterpillar look like he is having fun? I really love the sets Laurie has drawn that feature these caterpillars. Here is the set that I used:
I had no idea when I made this card that it would fit into so many categories for challenges, but here they are:
Frosted Designs - Up and Away
Pink Gem - on the move
Craft Your Passion - make it cute
Stamp and Create - fur and feathers (I know I'm stretching it)
Whoopsie Daisy - use digi
Party Time Tuesday - anything
Your Next Stamp - photo inspiration
Simon Says - anything
Now go do something fun today !

Cowgirl and Pink
I'm getting quite a collection of western digis and stamps which include cowgirls, cowboys, western gear, etc. Last night I got an urge to use a few of those things.
I started with the background parchment from Doodle Pantry , cut it out and put it on a piece of pink cardstock.
The cowgirl is call Pattieboop by Pattie'sCreations. I colored her with pencils. Two of my granddaughters have pink cowgirl boots and pink hat so there was no question as to what color I was going to use on those! I used my Sukura Silver Star pen for stars on her boots and band on hat.
The stitching is faux .
I transposed the sentiment onto the parchment before printing. Sentiment is by Tainted Sweets.
Card base is Kraft
Yeehaw !
Challenges:
Sentimental Sundays - stitching
Kraft Journal - chicks rule
Love to Create - pastel colors
Whoopsie Daisy - use digi
Digital Tuesday - spring colors
Party Time Tuesday - anything
Timeless Tuesday - stitching

Resurrection Sunday Almost Here
Easter, or as some of us call it, Resurrection Sunday, is almost here. Christmas Day and Resurrection Sunday are my favorite two days of the year. Unfortunately, I will not be home this Sunday. One of my daughters asked my hubby and I to go on a road trip with her to see her sister (another daughter of ours). Two days on the road, three days visit, two days back home. I don't like traveling but it will be fun to be with daughters and grandchildren.
Anyway, I did make a few cards to send to dear friends I love this cross found at Doodle Pantry. The set is called "Christ's Gift". I used the outline version, although there are colored versions too.
The beautiful paper is by Heartfelt Creations. I am using this pad of designer paper a lot lately. Quite unusual for me because I tend to hoard paper.
I used Sakura Sliver and Copper pens to add shine to the cross and I like the illusion of metal.
Here is the inside:

It's My Anniversary
It's my 45th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe. My husband and I look at each other and ask the same question: "How can we have been married that long? We are not old enough!" LOL But, alas, we are.
So you want a few laughs? Here is our wedding pic.
And here we are now !
These were taken just last week at my Mom's 90th birthday party. We don't have a recent photo of us together. Maybe Hubby will agree to one soon. (That would be a great anniversary gift, Honey. Hint, Hint)
Well, enough of that torture. On to the card I made for my husband.
Isn't that a cute image? It is a digital by MoManning. It is colored with Prisma pencils. The designer paper is from my new stack by Heartfelt Creation. I cut the lattice out from a Kraft pad. Happy Anniversary is embossed.
The inside says:
"The best thing to hold onto in this life is each other."
Now here is another card totally different and unrelated to my anniversary.
Stamp set is Our Daily Bread Designs "Sweet Williams" . There probably isn't any such thing as yellow sweet williams. I've always done them in pinks purples, blues and decided to do them in yellow for fun. Yellow and green is one of my favorite combinations.

Birthday Girl Unity Style
Paper piecing seems to be my "thing" this week. I get into those moods, don't you? Some weeks - coloring, some weeks - pre-colored digitals. This week paper piecing.
For this card I used the Unity sketch and the inspiration colors.
Here is the sketch:
The banner border is cut out from the DCWV Celebration stack with a Verve banner die cut.
The Unity sets I used are Fabulous Girl and Jan 2012 Kit of the Month.
I used a Sakura clear star pen on the blue dress and Liquid Pearls on the buttons of the ochre dress.

Fun, Hoppy Card
Most of my cards have a main focal point in a square, rectangle, circle, oval. I use my Nesties a lot. So this is a little different for me, but it was fun doing something a little different.
We are having such downpours of rain. Glad I don't have to be out in it. Chancy going out for my walk because the rain starts so suddenly and comes down so hard. Good thing I'm not sweet enough to melt. LOL Anyway, I am making a few cards with rain, umbrellas, boots, etc.
For this card I used some of the images from the GKD set "Just So Hoppy". Paper pieced them onto digital rain background paper. The clouds and rainbow are fussy cut from some patterned paper.
Hard to see, but I added a little glaze to the puddle.

Tulips
Background paper is by Heartfelt Creations. Hard to see in the photo (and I took 10 shots) but it is a wood grain with a hint of green in it.
Sentiment is made up of words from Gina K Design stamps.
I like how this card turned out so much that I am torn between saving this card for my mom or sending it onto Operation Write Home. Okay, I'll send it. I do have plenty of time to make one for my mom but the mother's day cards have to be to our OWH shippers by the end of this month. .

My Love for Daffodils
I do love daffodils. For me it means Spring. And I am sure ready for that. They are popping up all around the county. Unfortunately, daffodils don't grow very well in the soil on our property. Must do something about that some year because I really love them. Maybe some barrels or some other outdoor containers.
This beautiful image is from Melanie Muenchinger's set "A Year of Flowers" . You can find it at Gina K Designs. I colored it with Prisma Pencils. The strip of patterned paper is a scrap piece of digital paper by Doodle Pantry.

Loving the Green Challenges
All the green challenges last week and this week are not very challenging for me because I LOVE green. Probably my most used color. But what is challenging is to make Mother's Day cards and those cards are supposed to be at our Operation Write Home shipper's March 31. So I sat down and made some mom day cards today. I was planning on using the same simple sketch for six of them but I messed up on one image and decided to use the MFT sketch on the fifth card.
Here are the cards I made with the simple sketch:
Here is the card using the MFT sketch:
The pretty image is a digital by NanaVic which I colored with Prisma pencils. The piece directly under the image is a piece of parchment that I stamped with a Stampin Up stamp from Wee Watercolor set.
Challenges:
Sentimental Sundays - 3 embellishments that start with B 3 Bling gems, Bow, stamped Blossoms
Great Impressions - green
Whoopsi Daisy - bows
Craft 4 Eternity - Moms
Timeless Tuesday - green

One and Only St. Patty's Card
Because I don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day and because I don't believe in luck, I only make one St. Patrick's Day card each year and that is for one of my daughters because she loves that day. In fact, it is probably her favorite day of the year.
I used the digital image at Doodle Pantry . It comes in outline and pre-colored. I used the pre-colored version and a piece of one of the digital papers. It is called Oxalis. Here is a photo of the whole set:
The sketch I used can be found at Tuesday Morning Sketches
The frame is made with a Spellbinder's Die. Swirl is Cheery Lane. The 4 leaf shamrock is made of 4 hearts punched out with one of my mini punches. I thought it would be fun to put a dew drop on one of the leaves in the main image just to help "jazz" up the card a bit more.
Challenges:

I Love My Sister
There has been a break in communication between one of my sisters and me the last few months. Yesterday at my mom's 90th birthday party, my sister and I had a chance to talk. So glad we were able to get the misunderstanding cleared up. I will be sending this card to her this week.
This cute pre-colored is by Dearie Dolls Digitals and the sketch is The Craft's Meow
The banner was made with a die from Verve. I glued a piece of twine on the top and "attached" it with brads on the ends.
Challenges:

Simon Says - bit of green

Just Ducky
Don't you just want to pick up this duckling and hold him to your cheek? I just love him.. He is one of Laurie Wilson's digis at Doodle Pantry which she has recently colored. So sweet.
The BG paper is unique, one of a kind. I printed it out for a different project but my printer was running out of ink at the time so the paper is yellow and the spots green (supposed to be shades of brown). Even though it is frustrating at the time, I love using these mistake papers later for a different project. The yellow and the green turned out to be beautiful shades. My favorite was pastel orange hearts instead of pink and red. But I digress.
The sketch is Mojo Monday
which I turned on its side. The sparkly flower is a 3 dimensional flower (3 layers) by Prisma.
Hope your day is just Ducky!

This cute pre-colored digi by Designed2Delight has been in my "to be used later" box for so long so today I made a card with her. (I think it is a her because of the long eyelashes) The sentiment is by Doodle Pantry.

CASEing Myself
You know what a sucker I am for challenges so as I was going through blogs, picking up challenge ideas, I ran across one at Crafty Creations that intrigued me - to CASE myself . I had been wondering what card to make for my brother's birthday and I did like a card I had made in the past so that is how I came to make this one:
I used a different shade of grass and used twine instead of ribbon. I cut the grass piece smaller than on the first card so the sentiment is placed a little different too The first card I made several years ago is this one:
So which one do you like best? I think I like the new one (first picture). I like the twine and the colors I used on the image are brighter.
The stamp set used is My Favorite Things
Challenges:
Digi Darla - green
Pile It On - birthdays
Craft Your Passion - odd number embellies
Crafty Cardmaker - masculine birthday
Created With Love - anything
Really Reasonable Ribbon - green
Dutch Dare - for the boys
Craft 4 Eternity - tic, tac, toe green, twine, metal
Great Impressions - go green

LOVE this dolphin by Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry. How can the recipient not smile when seeing him?

It Takes So Long To Catch Up
Hi, everybody. I have been gone 7 days with no internet. Eeeks! Take about withdrawals. And now it is time to catch up and wow does that ever take a long time. I have spent hours already going through my emails and bloggers.
I made this card before I left but did not schedule it to go up on my blog on the 1st of March. But better late than never, right?
This cute image and papers are by Doodle Pantry . He is just one of the many sets in the March release.
Look at all the precolored images and papers included in this set and it can be yours free with purchase between March 1 - 24.
For my card I colored the dog with pencils and colored the star with a copper Sakura pen. It will go to one our wonderful deployed heroes in my next box to Operation Write Home.
The card base is Kraft. Little strip of star paper is digital paper by GKD.
Kraft Journal - any sketch
