Want to make a quick chalkboard card? I used the digital images by Diane's Daydream Designs to make mine, cutting strips of Kraft to make a frame. Instead of trying to cut the angles first, I glued the strips on, overlapping the ends and then cut the angles. Much easier.
This is the Papertakes sketch #31 I used, making it A2 instead of square:
Challenges:
Papertakes - use a Papertakes sketch
Tuesday Throwdown - anything
Word Art Wednesday - anything
Sister Act - anything
Creative Card Crew - chalkboard
Crafty Creation - something old from stash (papers and heart)

Fan Club
Everyone needs a fan club in the bleachers, cheering you on. Our deployed soldiers need our support too. I love this digital set by Doodle Pantry with the cute sentiments and pre-colored images. Beautiful colors and matching papers.
Here is a pic of some of the pieces you get in the set:
Don't you love it?
I made this card for the challenge at Die Cut Divas's challenge - hot August nights. I have used a fan in my bedroom (which actually looks similar to this fan) every night this month.
There are just a few more days to play this challenge so hurry and show us your interpretation of hot August nights.
Challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door - anything
Tuesday Throwdown - anything
Word Art Wednesday - anything
Crafter's Cafe - dies
Cards Galore - anything

Then Make Ice Cubes
You've heard the saying, "When life give you lemons, make lemonade." Go a step further - add ice cubes. What? Let me explain. When I went to make this card, I tried to find an embellishment to go along with it. I knew I had some old gems that I thought would compliment the ice cubes in the image, thinking I would put three where the button is now. But when I went to take one off the package, the backing came off, leaving a clear gem the exact size of an ice cube.
How fun was that!!! So I scrapped the backing off three more gems and glued them on the image. LOVE how it turned out.
I made this card for the Die Cut Diva's Challenge - Hot August Nights.
I used rectangle dies by MFT to cut out the pieces. The image is colored with Prisma Pencils.
You still have a little over a week left to play the challenge. Would love to see your interpretation of Hot August Nights.

Triple Scoops of Cool Ice Cream
It may melt fast in August, but I LOVE ice cream in the summer. Here is a card I made for a granddaughter for her birthday who loves ice cream more than I do. I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest, loved it so with the help of my Silhoutte Portrait and my cuttlebug, I recreated it:
I used Cuttlebug folders for the cone and top scoop. The pink and green scoop are embossed by hand with a Fiskars template. Any guesses about the blob of whip cream? A die cut cloud made with a MFT die. And the cherry is a Doodle Pantry digital image that I fussy cut.
The Die Cut Diva's Challenge is to make a card depicting Hot August Nights. We would love to have you play along with the challenge.
Other challenges I will enter:
Simon Monday - anything
Simon Wednesday - summer
Papertakes - spots and dots
Die Cuttin Divas - favorite color combo
Word Art Wednesday - anything
Sister Act - anything
Brown Sugar - anything
Suzy Bees - anything

Blog Candy Reminder and Traveling
BLOB CANDY REMINDER
Here is another card with Diane's Daydream Designs On the Move. On the Move is all travel oriented, with classics and oldies. I used the Woody and Road Signs for this card:
We used to have a car similar to this. Fun to reminisce.
This would make such a cute graduation card or maybe even a congratulation on engagement for the groom to be.
The trees are an old SU favorite. The blue is Tim Holz Distress Ink. Woodgrain card base is Doodle Pantry digital paper.
Challenges:
Pink Gem - emboss
Word Art Wednesday - anything
Suzy Bees - anything
Crazy Challenge - love, marriage
Crafting from the Heart - anything

Admiration For Quilts
MY BIRTHDAY BLOG CANDY is at this previous post.
Our county fair begins today. One of the exhibits I love the most is the quilts. I do not quilt; never have; probably never will. I don't think I have the patience. But I love looking at them and admire the quilters.
One of the newer sets at Diane's Daydream Designs is Quilted From the Heart.
I made up three cards, changing it up a bit on each card. For this first one I printed up the quilt after adding the sentiment on the green strip, cut it out, then added some twine knots and stitching on the green piece.
For the second card I printed out the sentiment, cut it out with a Spellbinder die, placing it on the green strip. The stitching I did around the perimeter and then zigzaged on the top of the green strip.
Third card: I printed the quilt rod onto the shaving cream technique paper then attached the cut out quilt so it looks like it is hanging from the rod. The owl in the lower right corner is from the set Falling For You Owls. The sentiment is from the Owl Always Love You set.
Challenges:
2 Cute - animals
Cards Galore - anything
Stamp and Create - anything
Papertakes - anything
Word Art Wednesday - anything
Crafter's Cafe - lots of layers
Craft 4 Eternity - anything
Suzy Bees - anything

Birthday Blog Candy
It's that time of year again ...my birthday. This year it is a big one...65! So to celebrate, how about some blog candy? I am packing a box of 65 items. All you have to do to enter is comment, wishing me a happy birthday! LOL. ( Make sure I have a way to get a hold of you if you are the random chosen winner)
My birthday is Sat. 16th so this post will be available for one week. I will choose the winner on the 16th and announce it on the 17th.
What is in the box? Do you usually know what is in your birthday package before you open it? So do you really want me to spoil your surprise? Okay, I'll give you a little hint: stamp set, dies, embellishments.
Here is the birthday card I made for myself:
The first pic shows the dimension with the clouds and sentiment popped up. The second pic shows the liquid glaze that I put on the sunglasses.
The sun and cloudes are Diane's Daydream Designs. For the die cut clouds, I used a MFT die. The sentiment is a stamp.
Have a wonderful week.

Two Minds Thinking Alike
I am so privileged to be on two design teams for digital stamp companies. I adore these two women who own the companies and am excited each month for their new releases.
Diane from Daydream Designs made some new images available to the DT a few weeks ago and on the same day Laurie from Doodle Pantry did too. What was so crazy were the similarities:
1. they both were travel related
2. both retro
But the third similarity just about knocked my socks off. Doodle Pantry has a pre-colored Corvair pickup in the Classic Clunkers 2 set and Daydream Designs has a pre-colored trailer in the On The Move set. Get this - they are both the exact color!
I couldn't wait to print them out and put them together and with digital images, it is possible to do that before you print.
Aren't those just the cutest together?
Paper comes with the Doodle Pantry set and the sentiment is Daydream Designs On The Move Sentiments.
Here are pics of the two sets:
Hope you will check out both Doodle Pantry and Diane's Daydream Designs.
Doodle Pantry has a sale going on - all the new releases are 15 % off. And don't forget to enter the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge.

He Understands Our Weaknesses
Good Sunday Morning.
I've been making a few cards with quotes or Bible verses. The quote on this card reminds me that God is not an ogre in the sky but a loving caring Father to those of us who have put our faith in Him. But the quote does not go far enough. Romans 8:26 tells us that the Holy Spirit (third person of the trinity) intercedes for us when we don't know what to pray for or how to pray. It is incredible that we can approach God in prayer but how much more wonderful that He even helps us with our prayers to Him.

Summer Evenings
Here in the Pacific NW, we don't always have warm evenings in the summer. But this summer we are enjoying evening after evening outside. In fact, there have been many nights that I run the fan during the night in order to have our bedroom cool enough for sleep.
Die Cut Diva's have a new challenge starting today - hot August nights. Many of you in different parts of the country can relate. How would you interpret this challenge? I chose to use a digital image by Doodle Pantry. I wish I had a porch swing. I think it would be a wonderful way to cool off on a hot summer night.
The wood frame is Doodle Pantry digital paper cut out with Spellbinder dies and my Cuttlebug.
The flowers in the planter are dabbed with liquid pearls. The flowers in the left corner are recycled with some pink ink distressing the edges. I also fussy cut some of the leaves and popped them on top the leaves on the tree.
So are you experiencing hot August nights? Come over to Die Cut Divas to play the challenge. Oozak is the sponsor.
Challenges:
Die Cuttin Divas - anything

But until then, head over to Doodle Pantry and check out all the wonderful new sets for the August release and also look at the Classic Clunkers 1 and the Classic Cars 1,2, and 3. They are great.
