While checking out techniques at the Power Poppy blog site, I saw this idea and knew I needed to try it. I wish I had followed the directions more carefully (I glued the designer paper to the card before I put the string in - bad mistake! but eventually I was able to lift the paper enough to put the string through.)
Inside:
I'm still not totally happy with the inside so I think I will add a "frame around the sentiment piece (smooth, not another scallop cut).
All the cuts were made with Spellbinder Circles and Scallops.
The rose is a Power Poppy digital image that I colored with Copics and Prisma pencils. The sentiment is Stampin Up.
Thanks to Allison Cope over at Power Poppy for the great idea.

This is beautiful Marsha! You did a great job with this technique. No one would have known you glued the paper first. So glad you were still able to work with it. Thanks so much for joining the DRU "Anything Goes" challenge. Best of luck to you!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! I like the string idea too, it adds a little something... Thanks for playing with us at Stamplorations Theme & Sketch this summer!
ReplyDeleteLove this spinner design Marsha! The single rose is perfect for the style. You picked perfect patterned paper and coloured that rose beautifull too. Thanks for joining us at Power Poppy this month!
