This is the card I made with my new Ippity set that I won on the Get Hippity Challenge.  And Aletha  was so gracious as to feature this card today and a short bio on me of all people.  I love how this card turned out.  I have come to love paper piecing and this image is perfect for it.

Just Be Yourself

This darling image by Doodle Pantry always reminds me of the Pixar clip of the birds on the wire.  Such a good object lesson for kids (for all of us) to accept those who look or act differently than us.  Not only is the digital image by Doodle Pantry but also the cloud BG paper.  New release is coming May 1.  Can hardly wait.  So many new cut digitals in outline and colored versions.
Here is the CPS sketch I used

Off to the Post Office

Here are some more of the Father's Day cards I am sending off today to OWH
I do hope you will check out this wonderful organization if you have not done so.
There are several cards I made that I cannot show yet because I used an image that has not been released.  I will post it later when some of you are looking for ideas for Father's Day cards.  I know that I am a little early with dad cards but that is due to the deadline for OWH.  Okay, enough talk.

The ribbon is from a bow on a birthday package my mom received in March.  I grabbed it and stashed it as fast as I could, knowing I would use it first chance. .

Super Dad Banner

Combining Verve stamps and GKD stamps for this card.  I love my new Verve banner stamps and die cut.  Wish I had a die cut for Melanie's stars. I CASED Melanie's card which pictured below mine.

Here is Melanie's.  I put in a banner instead of the third star because I wanted to use my new Verve stamp and die cut.  I did not pop up the stars because I try to keep cards that are going to OWH fairly flat.
Paper: Not Quite Navy by SU, Kraft by GKD, red and light kraft are scraps.Ribbon from Really Reasonable.

Mother's Day In a Few Weeks

When making cards for OWH, we make cards way in advance.  So this Mother's Day card was made in February but it did not seem appropriate to post it back then.  Are you like me?  I have to be pressured before I get creative.  Consequently, I am feverishly working on Fathers Day cards right now to meet the OWH deadline of April 30.  Next few posts will be Father's Day cards.
This beautiful digital is by  Nana Vic's  .

I used a scrap for the BG and colored the flowers with Kohinoor pencils.  I might as well enter some challenges while I'm at it -heehee.

Grass on Speed

With all our rain, the grass (and the weeds) have been growing like crazy.  My husband is trying to get everything mowed but we have several acres and way too much water in the ground for him to get it all done.  But he loves to mow and I love all the green.  I guess that is why we live in the state of Washington.
I am making up Father's Day cards to send off to OWH and I only have a few more days to get them mailed.  This was not a good card to make because it took so long to piece, but I have to piece this stamp by My Favorite Things. The rest of the cards will not be this time consuming.

Beautiful Bluejay

This card was made with a beautiful colored image by Doodle Pantry.  The matching papers also come with the set.  I started out to make a window card but cut the digital panel the wrong size so I changed gears and added a window sheet.  I really like it even though it is a normal card when opened.  This is the first time I used my new Fanciful Flourish die cut.   Love it.

Playful Puppy

The tail is wagging this dog, don't you think?  Isn't this so cute?  It is an image by Robyn's Fetish.  While I was taking care of my grandchildren, my granddaughter wore a shirt with a dog similar to this, so this card is going to her along with some photos that I took of them while I was with them.
Here is the sketch I used - the 100th Challenge at Raise the Bar

The circles down the left side of the card are punched out of some sparkly Dp I had in my stash.  The sentiment is a SU stamp from the set Sprinkled Expressions.

Tut, Tut. It Looks Like Rain

One of my granddaughters loves Winnie the Pooh, so we end up watching the video often.  This image is not Christopher Robin but it is cute and I think of the phrase, "Tut, tut.  It looks like rain." when I use this digital (Cheeky Radish). I love that the artist drew boots and umbrella to go along with the main image.
Rain and showers can be so dreary but this great DP helps bring a smile.(How can you not smile with these, my favorite colors?)  And as the saying goes, " Enjoy the weather.  It is the only kind you will get today."

Long Rainy Trip But I'm Home

On April 4th I flew to southern California to be with grandchildren for a week.  The weather was beautiful all week.  In fact, this white skin got some color.  On April 12 I headed home but this time by car.  That morning was cold and we drove through rain, breaks, rain, breaks all the way to Oregon.  The sun shone again and was beautiful the rest of the trip.  I am so glad to be home even though today it turned cold and rainy again. But very typical for our Springs.  Some of the card challenges this week include elements of rain or April showers.  How appropriate since I have some cards to make and send out .  For my first card, I used a colored digital by Pink Gem. I added a little more coloring for contrast and some liquid pearls to the buttons. Isn't she cute?

Poppin Up To Say "Hi"

What a fun card to make.  I used one of the newly released digital images at Doodle Pantry .  It comes in outline form or colored.  I used the outline form so I could choose my colors.  Printed the image once on white and once on light cream/yellow card stock. Some of the pansies are pieced, as are the flowers on the pot.  I used a crystal lacquer on the flower pot so it would look like ceramic.
Check out the new Doodle Pantry images for April and play the challenge.  Receive a free digital set just for playing.

Easter Weekend

Tomorrow is Good Friday.  Have you ever wondered why it is "good" when it marks the day we acknowledge the death of someone.
It is because that 'Someone" is Jesus Christ.  He willingly took on the penalty of our sins, dying by crucifixion, so that we would have a way, the only way, to be made righteous to God.  He took on the form of flesh, lived as a perfect man, and died for us.
"The wages of sin (and we are all sinners) is death.  But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  Romans 6:23.     That is "good" news.
Sunday we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.  He has power over sin and over death.
Because He rose from the dead, we know that He has power to give us eternal life.
"For God loved the world  (you and me) so much that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life."  John 3:16
If you have questions about this or want to know more about my wonderful Savior, Jesus, you can always email me at mkdrain@gmail.com.

And now onto the card I am featuring today:
This is a digital image and sentiment by Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry . It is "Holy Land Flowers"  and comes with several types of flowers and the camel's thorns, as well as sentiments.  I was able to overlay the verse using the png. files.  The BG paper is also Doodle Pantry digital paper called Spring Day Papers.
Here is the inside of the card:

The cross and first sentiment are digitals  at Doodle Pantry - "Christ's Gift"

I hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating the Resurrection.

Seasons and Time

I love all the seasons of the year, although Autumn is my favorite.  I love the colors, the fragrances, the temperatures. And being in the Autumn years of my life, I am enjoying those too.  With this card, I tried to represent each of the seasons and yet stay in the Fall color pallet.  The sketch is at Pixie Cottage
The Verse is a digital by Doodle Pantry .  You can find this and other Verses in beautiful fonts at the store. Check out the new sets and specials. There is also a challenge at the challenge HERE .  You receive a free digital set just for playing.

NO JOKE - NO KIDDING

It is time for the April release at Doodle Pantry .  Oh, my goodness - so many wonderful new digital sets in both sketch and colored.  Here is one image and sentiment that I used from the new set, "Sombrero Hat."  I printed it onto a light yellow card stock and then colored the trims.  I also used liquid pearls to add dimension to the dots.  I think they look like beads or metal embellishments.
You really need to go to the Doodle Pantry to check out all the new sets but also to check out Laurie's April Fool's Day Special.  Today through the 3rd, you can receive 25% off everything in your cart  AND the  free set pictured below with your purchase.
