Who Am I?

When it comes right down to it, that is a tough question.  Stampin Sisters in Christ has a challenge to create a card or project that show our style - to show who we really are?  So what is my style?  I guess the style of cards I create really do show who I am.  I like simple, yet pretty.  Not much bling (I usually wear only simple earrings and a chain necklace).  Not many embellishments but maybe layers; I find it hard to make one layer cards.  I enjoy good, clean, clever humor as you will see by the inside of the card. I love yellow because I need the sunny color here in the Pacific NW.  I hate throwing anything away - I used 3 scraps on this card.  So are you ready to see who I am?
And for the inside:
I didn't realize that my last post had lemons too until I went to post this new card.  I knew I was going to love this new set by Mark's Finest Papers. The chocolate bar is a digital by Meljen Design.  And the sentiments on front and back are from the Mark's Finest set "Pucker Up"

Love You Warts And All

Isn't that just the cutest saying?  And really that is what unconditional love is - loving no matter what the person looks like, no matter what the annoying habits, etc.    1st Corinthians 13 comes to mind.
The heart digi is by Marlene and the frog is a stamp in the GKD set, Just So Hoppy.

Taking a Break from Valentines

Jenny Suchin is having a Giveaway on her blog.  Here is her link http://www.weememories.net/2012/01/huge-giveaway.html
I have been working on Valentines (my favorite cards to make) but took a break today to make a card with flowers and butterfly.  Butterflies always remind me of new life, new beginnings, Spring.  There is a challenge at Unity http://www.theunitystampco-challenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-beginnings-challenge.html to create a card depicting new beginnings.
The sketch is Simon Says http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/simon-says-use-domis-sketch.html
I used new stamps - sentiment from Unity's Good Morning, butterfly from Unity's Now and Always,  and flowers from Ippity's Thanks for all Things.

Sending My Love

I am having a ball making cards during this winter storm.  It is 10 degrees F out, with the 35-40 mph wind, that makes it  - 14.  With snowdrifts 3 - 4 feet high in the driveway and a sports truck that is not 4 WD, I am staying put.  Just hard to get the house warm. Even with my little space heater going full blast in my office, I am not really toasty.  But at least we still have power.
I made another Valentine / I love you/ Missing you card to send off to OWH.  For this one I used the CPS sketch and a digital image by Paula at OWH .
Used my new border punch by EK Success.  Stampin Sisters in Christ - http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2012-01-17T03:00:00-08:00&max-results=1

Missing My Heros

I don't have anyone in the military right now, but I do have other heroes in my life and I am missing them right now.  I guess that helps when I am making cards for OWH  http://www.owhhomefrontblog.org/, imagining what it is like to be apart from long periods of time.  This card is too late for OWH Valentines, but okay for a" love" card or a "missing you" card.
BG paper is digital by Daisy Doodles, Image and "so loved" by ODBD, and "Miss you all the time" by Hero Arts.  This is the first time I have used this stamp by Hero Arts.

Yes, This is What I'm Talkin' About !

I got my wish - SNOW.  6-7 inches so far and more to come.  I'm loving it.  No where to go.  Just sit and revel in the beauty of it all.  Wind is picking up so it will be blown off the trees soon and the next two days of snow fall will actually be coming in sideways like it usually does.  But we have had a rare quiet snowfall and I am like a little kid loving it.
How about a card since I am sure you did not come here for a weather report.
This cute digi is by Meljen Design.  Love him.  Sketch is at Wee Memories http://www.weememories.net/2012/01/challenge-83-our-final-challenge.html . Lots of punched hearts.  One of the layers is vellum, and on the the brown layer, I used a Cuttlebug folder.  Love this one when I use a turtle image. Ribbon is new seam binding.

Let It Snow

A little dusting of snow is not my idea of snow.  Most people in this part of the country think I am crazy, but I want a lot of snow if we are going to have any.  This slushy stuff just doesn't get it.  So while many people are already tired of snow, I am hoping for some.  So while I wait, I made a card with lots of snow.  I am so late sending out thank you cards for Christmas presents and visits, I made this one to send this week.  Hopefully I will get a few more out too.
Pieces of DP
New Snowman stamp by Inkadinkado (isn't he cute?)

Son, This Card Is For You

As you can see, I have changed the look of my blog for awhile.  We had a dusting of snow last night but it is now raining so even though I can see snow capped mountains from my windows, it is dreary outside.  Dreary, discouraged, emotionally and physically hurting - that describes a couple important men in my life.  Both my son and my husband are gone, working out of state or out of the country.  Things just are not going well for them.  I think about them a lot, pray for them just as often.  I made this card for my son but he does not have an address yet, so I do hope you are reading this blog, "D".  Thank goodness for email, facebook, and blogs.  Sometime soon, each of them will have addresses.   But until then, photos will have to do.  Speaking of photos, I put a tiny little photo of us on this card.  It was taken at Christmas time, right before their departures.
I used the GKD set by Melanie Muenchinger called Tech Talk

More Fun Toys - This Time Pretty Paper

Both my daughter and my daughter in law gave me pads of paper as Christmas gift.  Oh, how beautiful and fun.
It did not take me long to start in on them.  These papers (Me and My Big Ideas) are two of the colors and there are two other colors of the same design.  Going to be fun.
The stamped hearts are from the Loads of Love Ippity set.  I embossed the gold one and added crystal lacquer to the rose hearts.   Color Challenge at http://www.unityopportunity-challenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/jan-4-15-color-challenge.html

New Fun Toys

It was almost by chance that I found a super duper sale on some EK Sucess items.  I bought two new punches for a song and I love them.  Never have had an EK punch and I am ready to do a commercial - love them, so easy.  So I used my new scallop punch for this 4 X 4 card and an OLD stamp - not even sure of the company but I pull it out every year for Valentines Day.

Some Fun For A Birthday

I picked up this new digi at Lawnscaping Challenge (thank you for the freebie Melania Deasy !) wondering if I would use it.  Not my usual style.  But after I colored it and put it all together into a card, I really like it.  I mean how fun is this card? The only stamped parts are the sentiment and stars - both OLD Stampin'Up stamps.  And of course, I had to use crystal lacquer for the balloon and the middle guy's glasses.

Friends With Flair Friday

Fun Valentine card today (yes, I am concentrating on Valentines because I have a minimum of 22 to make), using two stamps from two Ippity sets: Loads of Love and So This is Love.  I used the colors of JenMarie Taylor's card http://www.unityopportunity-challenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/jan-4-15-color-challenge.html but also loved her use of ribbon and  twine so I incorporated those ideas too.
The BG paper is digital by Daisy Doodle.

Happy New Year

I'm already running late in this new year !!!  It is the 4th and I am just now wishing you all a Happy New Year.
This 2012 digi is a NEW digi by MelonHeadz.  It is already precolored so I just added stars and confetti in the same colors as the digi.  To some of the stars, I added gold with a Sakura pen.  The New Year sentiment by Studio g is popped up on the card.  I outlined it with a silver Sakura pen.
