In Love With Daffodils

Daffodils are so bright and cheery.  Love seeing them come up in the Spring.  Unfortunately, I have only two clumps of them in my flower buds.  Going to have to change that this Fall.
The image is Gina K Designs by Theresa Momber and the sentiment is The Cat's Meow.
Card stock is GKD Lemon Yellow and Green Grass.
I paper pieces the flowers with Lemon Yellow and a darker piece of DP.  I also paper pieced the "tops" of the leaves to go over the oval indentation and give more 3-D.  I used a heat tool on the ribbon to curl it .

Tri-fold Spring Card

It has been ages since I made one of these tri-fold cards.  Fun.  I basically CASED Beate's card in her tutorial on SCS. The first view is the completed card.
And here is the inside panel on the outside:
I cut out the flowers with a Cuttlebug die cut then rolled the petals back with an embossing tool.
Sentiment is Unity from the set Forever Friends.
Challenges:  Chick Challenges - sketch
Unity Opportunity- flowers
Party Time - anything
Mark's Finest - pink
Craft Your Passion - monochromatic
Ribbon Carousel - anythingSimon Says - anything
Unity Stamp Company - windows, doors

Masculine Cards - Challenging

This poor car looks as old as its year!  LOL.  It is an Ippity Stamp from the set Authentic Man.  Don't think I will do it in brown again.  That color does not do the stamp justice.Sentiment is also Ippity.
I used a Signo white pen for the whitewalls and the lights, a silver Sakura pen for some of the chrome.
The button is from my mom's button box.
CPS - sketch
Craft You Passion - monochromatic
Ribbon Carousel - anything

Over the Top With Daisies

I went a little crazy with the flowers on this card.  I love the background digital paper by Doodle Pantry.  The little bear is also a Doodle Pantry digital image. The new April Release is coming April 1 so head over on Sunday and check out all the darling new digital images and digi paper and the new challenge starting the same day at the challenge blog  Doodle Pantry.
I'm still practicing with my newly won liquid pearls.  This seemed a perfect opportunity to use it for the yellow centers.
The image circle is popped up from the scallops and the scallops from the green circle, creating quite a bit of dimension.  And of course, the flowers are glued on last so they can be out of the box (circle, actually).
The sketch is at Pixie Cottage.
Other challenges:
Paper Sundaes - spring blossoms
Really Reasonable - Spring
Sundays with Crissy - animals

So Good To See The Birds

You know Spring is here when you see the birds.  Love seeing the robins in the yard, hearing the chirps of different birds in the area.  And we finally have had a few sunny days with blue skies.  Yeah!! Spring is coming.
I needed a birthday card for a child and I needed it quick, so I made this CAS card with a pre-colored digital by Doodle Pantry.  You can find other pre-colored digitals at her store. And there is still time to join the challenge and receive a free digital set just for playing Doodle Pantry Challenge.  But hurry, it ends the 24th.
Doesn't this bird just make you happy when you see him?
I used the sketch at CPS

Spring Is Finally Here

Spring is here, at least on the calender.  But we do have blue skies today, even though it is only 45 degrees.  I saw a few daffodils the other day so the tulips will be right behind them. I made this card Sunday evening but Monday morning the Medic 1 took my mom to the hospital.  She was released the same day but I have been with her ever since.  She is 89 and I hate those phone calls. I am back home now and live close enough to help her out the next few days if she needs me.   So I am just now posting this card.
Challenges: Taylored Expressions - sketch
Paper Sundaes - photo inspiration

Little Bit O' Green

Here is a technique I don't use very often.  What is it called?  Emboss Resist?  Anyway, I gave it a shot for something different last week.  Here is what I came up with:
I don't use this color very often either but I like it.  It is Stampin'Ups So Saffron.  The image and sentiment are by Gina K Desisns.

Just Hang In There

Love the new colored digital by  Doodle Pantry.  It is one of the new digital sets from the March release.
And speaking of Doodle Pantry, there is still time to enter the March challenge here: http://doodlepantryblog.blogspot.com/2012/03/doodle-pantry-digital-challenge-21.html and receive a darling digital set for free just for entering !
We have a lot of possums around our neck of the woods.  I don't like them but this one is so cute and I love the sentiment that goes with him.  If our possums were this cute, I wouldn't mind them so much.
I tend to make very simple cards.  This CAS card was so easy to make with the colored digital image and the digital papers that come with the set.  I added 4 colors of twine to match the colors of the card and bingo, I was done.
Challenges: Pile It On - use green
Simon Says - use green
Crafts 4 Eternity - specified colors

Postcard Look -a -like

The main panel on this card is another part of the old manufactured card that was in my stash. (I used pieces on the little girl card in previous post).  I thought it would be fun to dress it up with a postage stamp, return address and instead of the addressee, I used a sentiment.  Both stamp image and sentiment are by Mark's Finest Papers.
I used some Stickles and a gem on the preprinted flowers and a dew drop on one of the rose leaves.
Postage cancellation mark is by Ippity.
Pixie Cottage - pastels
Simon Says - bit of green
Pink Gem - pastels
Mark's Finest - Bingo: Mark's, Bling, Glitter

Little Girl and Her Purrfect Friend

This is one of the new stamps that I received for being a lucky winner of a challenge.  Isn't she just adorable?
She is by Sugar Nellie Stamps and the stamp name is Purrfect Friend.

I used an old manufactured card for the piecing and the corner.  Flower is made with two punches and the "lace" behind the image panel is a digital cut.  The real lace is a piece from my Mom's stash.

Lucky Four Leaf Clover

I make only one St. Patrick's Day card each year and that is for one of my daughters whose favorite day is St. Patty's Day.  Why?  I don't know, but I indulge her whim with a card.  The clover is made from 4 hearts cut out with a Fiskars template and the paper used is a piece of foil wrapping from a box of chocolates.

I Felt Like Making Flowers

I have never made felt flowers before but how fun to cut out layers with the Cuttlebug and put them together.  I forced myself to make them funky and bright.  This was my first card using Flower Soft which I just received in the mail this week.  That is going to be fun too as I look for images on which to use it.
The image is by Designed2Delight and colored with Koh-i-nor pencils.

Flair On Friday March 9

Once again it was very hard to capture the true colors and especially the beauty of this ribbon.  It is woven with green and gold - so beautiful.  And one of the best things about it, it was free.  I recycled it from a birthday package my mom received this week.

I used the sketch at Get Ippity with Ippity with Ippity and also used the challenge at Unity Stamp Company
as my springboard.   The stamp sets are Ippity's  Loads of Love and So This is Love.
I pierced the holes and the stitching stamped on the hearts, and added some gold with the Sakura pen.
Other challenges:
Really Reasonable Ribbon - monochromatic green
Paper Sundaes - green
Mark's Finest Papers - recycle
Lothian - two main colors (green and gold)
Raise The Bar   greens

Happy Birthday Old TImer

My brother is having a birthday this Friday.  Thought this would be a cute card for him. He is five years older than me so I can tease him about his age.
Isn't this a cute digital?  It is already colored.  You know how I love that.  I colored the suitcases because they come in outline or pre-colored but I wanted to choose the colors.   Oh, I almost forgot to tell you where you could find these great digital images - Doodle Pantry . And just a reminder to play their challenge http://doodlepantryblog.blogspot.com/ where you can receive a whole digital set just for playing the challenge.
Okay onto the card:
I used a piece of DP behind the image panel.  Remember - don't throw those scraps away.  You will find a use for them someday!

New Way to say Thanks

Oh, no.  Here she goes again with more scraps.  Yes, but this time I used my new "Thanks" die cut made by memory box instead of a stamp .  I love it.   I cut twice:  once in white and once in green so I could stack them.  It made the words stand out better. Added some new beautiful ribbon - and again another simple card.

Downpours, Hail, Lightening and Thunder, Sunbreak, Snow

We had all those weather conditions today and I experienced them all.  It was kind of crazy that I was outside so many times today and each time I was in one of those weather conditions.  I stopped drying my hair sometime around 4:00. It was pointless. Getting anxious for Spring.  I know Irises are not the first flowers of Spring but I love them and decided to work on a card with this beautiful colored digital by Doodle Pantry.
Do you find it is hard to photograph purples and lilacs?  I do.  They blend nicely IRL but when photographed, the hues don't even look like they belong to each other.  Guess you will have to take my word for it ! heehee.
If you like what you see, you might want to go to the Doodle Pantry and see more beautiful digitals by Laurie Wilson.  Then go to the  Doodle Pantry Challenge and enter.  Each person who enters a card, receives a free digital set just for entering.
Lots of challenges:

Looking Forward To Spring

There is talk of snow again for Tuesday.  Even though it has not been a hard winter, I am ready for it to be over.  There are several challenges for flowers or Spring.  I think there are a few of us who are ready for Spring.
I made this card because of a challenge at StampTV - to make a card of black and white with a spot of color. It was fun to capitalize on that spot of color.

Another Card in Greens and I'm Not Even Irish

I do love green. This is another card I made with  some scraps of D.P.  I finished this one off with another Ippity stamp  "Where You Should Be" and the sentiment is from the "So This Is Love"  set.  When I was gluing these pieces onto cardstock a few weeks ago, I had no idea how I was going to finish them off.  I just was using up time and scraps.  These are really different for me but I like the results.  The button is Stampin Up'

Some Exciting News

It gives me such great pleasure (in other words, I am giddy) to announce that I have been chosen to be on the Summer Design Team for Doodle Pantry.  Laurie Wilson has some adorable digital stamps and I am going to have such fun using them and showing some of them to you.
For this card I am using one of the new colored images and new digital paper for the March Release which is happening today at the  Doodle  Pantry.
You are going to love all the new sets that are in the March Release.
Because Laurie includes PNG files as well as JPEG, I was able to play around and add carrots to the main image. These colored images are so easy to use and help make for quick cards. A few die cuts with the Cuttlebug, some ribbon and you have a darling card. Check out the new released images, papers, and another new challenge is coming.  Free images when you play,  In fact this is the set you will receive for free when you play.
