I Am Still Around

It has been quite awhile since my last post.  Quite a busy summer.  We have had one to nine overnight guests 21 nights so far this month - out of town friends, daughter and family, other grands.  I don't mind the overnight stays, it's the cooking that wears me out!
Thank goodness I have been able to sit and color every once in a while.  Definitely relaxing for me. This card took several sittings and combines several techniques - copic and pencil and also the use of neutral copics - both techniques that Allison Cope showed us over at Power Poppy.  The image I used is also from Power Poppy.
The "happy birthday" die  is by Memory Box.  After cutting it out and adhering to the front of the card, I coated it with Glossy Accents which gave it shine.

My Daughter - My Delight

Don't you love happy endings?  I have one with a daughter who hated me for most of her teen years and now (she is 31) is the closest to me out of my four daughters.  Not only do we love and enjoy each other, she lives only a mile away!
She has been such an encourager and so much help as we plan a family reunion.  I want her to know how much her support and love means to me so I made a fun card to give to her and express my thanks.
This adorable flip-flop medallion is by From the Heart.  I apologize for the photo.  My camera picked up either the blue or the yellow, giving the white background one of those colors.  This photo is the closest to the real deal but still is lacking.
It is colored with copics.  The sentiment came with the image.  Center dot is a melted Perler bead.

Fun New Spin For A Card

While checking out techniques at the Power Poppy blog site, I saw this idea and knew I needed to try it.  I wish I had followed the directions more carefully (I glued the designer paper to the card before I put the string in - bad mistake! but eventually I was able to lift the paper enough to put the string through.)

Inside:
I'm still not totally happy with the inside so I think I will add a "frame around the sentiment piece (smooth, not another scallop cut).
All the cuts were made with Spellbinder Circles and Scallops.
The rose is a Power Poppy digital image that I colored with Copics and Prisma pencils.  The sentiment is Stampin Up.
Thanks to Allison Cope over at Power Poppy for the great idea.

R, W, B - Why Not

Each year I make up a red, white, and blue bouquet on July 4th just for the fun of it.  So when I was taking time to color yesterday, I thought why not color up a floral image with those colors?

The digital stamp is Power Poppy.  The sentiment is Stampin'Up! .
I made the heart "ornament" by punching out two hearts from red cardstock and then gluing the twine between the layers.
And here is a pic of the bouquet from the 4th:

Not one of my better ones but it was pretty IRL and always fun to make from what is in bloom.  I couldn't find the small flag that I usually use but the grands insisted on a flag so we used the big one.

Red, White, Blue

Happy Fourth of July.
A few days ago I started coloring this page from one of my adult coloring books.  As I colored it, I kept thinking red, white, and blue even though it is not a patriotic page.  So I added red as I went along and ended up liking it.
I am coloring these pages in order to display a new one each month in a frame on my craft room/office wall but I hate to cut off any of the 8 X 11 page so I will prop this one up on the corner of my desk.  I guess I will have to make my own frame because I really don't like cutting off an inch of the pages after I finish them in order to fit them into an 8 x 10 frame.

The page is colored with Copics and Prisma pencils.

July Already

Well, I am happy to say that I finished 7 of the 9 cards that I need for July birthdays and anniversaries.  I already have ideas for those last two cards and don't need them for a few weeks.  What a relief to be ahead of the game.
This card was inspired by Julie Beech at Stamploration.

Here is Julie's card:
For my card - the flowers are Verve stamps.  The leaves and sentiment - Gina K Designs and the buds - Hero Arts. All the flowers were colored with Copics.
I really love this design.  Thank you Julie for the lovely idea.

Shades of Gray

Several of the the cards I have made lately were inspired by Shery Russ.  Here is another one of hers that I CASED.
 My card:

I made my card by printing one of Stamploration digital images then made a mask covering up the parts I wanted left white.  This I put back into my copier and printed.  I actually ended up printing a third time because I fussy cut a flower and put it in the upper right corner then printed again.
Last two steps was to use a C-2 Copic  to go around the flowers and then stamp the SU sentiment in Gray Flannel.
I kept everything on the muted side because this card will be a Sympathy card.
You would think after all that work I would have kept a copy.  Nope.  Another senior moment.   Someday I will do it again but use bright colors to see how that looks.
