No, it's really just a frame, a stamp in my KOM Heart and Soul. I used it to frame the car from the Ippity set Authentic Man. Perfect size frame for it.
I need to branch out and start coloring this car in another color besides green. I must choose green because it reminds me of a huge old green Cadillac we used to have. It wasn't a convertible, though. We did have a blue convertible. I must color it blue next time.

Talk About Cheating
Cheating and school. Not a good combo. I felt like I was cheating when I was making this card because I did so little on my own. Most of it is a piece of designer paper left over from a 12 x 12 piece which looked like a board game. I used that and then printed a sentiment on a little piece of vanilla to cover up something that I did not want to show. Added some stars, some faux photo corners, ribbon and "presto" I had myself a card.
I like how it turned out. It is getting harder to come up with cards for my grandson who is ten. It is an in between age. So many images are too young and yet I don't want to get into the teen age thing yet. He liked this one (yeah!) but as he opened it to read what was inside he said, "What? Where's the money!" He was just kidding and it was great to hear him clowning around because he is usually so uptight when it comes to school. Nice to see him relaxed on his first day of school this year.
Thanks for looking and for commenting . Have a great day.

Back to School Today
Most of my grandchildren started school today. They live close enough for me to drive over and give them each a back to school card this morning. This is one of them.
I printed out the digital image by Digital Delights twice, once on white and again on yellow so I could color the people and then fit the bus over the colored image after I cut out the window.
The chevron Kraft piece was a piece from the My Mind's Eye Kraft Everyday Fun pad.
Red and Yellow card stock is GKD.
Challenges:
Stampin Sisters in Christ - dies
Pile it On - something with "p" = people
Kraft Journal - Back to School
Party Time Tuesday - anything
Simon Says - anything
Your Next Stamp - sketch
Clearly i Stamp - circles
Pink Gem - animals

She's A Walkin' Down the Street
Ain't she sweet?
This is a new (as of today, in fact) digital set I won at Party Time Tuesday. It is by Paper Shelter.. Comes with background paper, colored and outline images. I love the way this card turned out. It was so fun to make.
After printing off the BG paper with the girl on it, I printed just the girl (already colored - yeah!) and the cut her out, popped her onto dimensionals. I added the A +, the notebook, and the heart on the envelop. Everything else was already printed on the BG paper.
I used some coral thread for the stitching and added some Stickles on the star.
Challenges:
Pile It On - something with "p" - popped up, ponytail
Sentimental Sundays - stitching
Stamp and Create - stitching
Digital Tuesday - coral and tan
Party Time Tuesday - anything
Simon Says - back to school
Your Next Stamp - books

The Cost of Postage
Remember when a postage stamp was only 37 cents? Remember when it was only a quarter? Okay, I'm not going back any further because I already feel ancient.
I have had a few sheets of digital postage stamps for a long time - well, obviously since postage was 37 cents. I am really trying to use up scraps of paper, stamped images, etc. that just take up space. For some unknown reason, I felt like playing around with this postage stamp grid. Haven't done one of these for years but it was fun to give it a try again.
The flower stamp is an old clear stamp that was probably from a $ bin. Background DP is from who knows where. (I told you I was using up old scraps.) The sentiment is by Mark's Finest Papers. Love how big it is. The postage piece is popped up with dimensionals.
Have a great day.
Challenges:
Your Next Stamp - color challenge
Speedy TV - simple salutations challenge - add flower
Pile It On - something with P = postage stamps

Knotty not Naughty
Nautical images always get me to thinking and sometimes out of the box or creatively. I always want to tie in some nautical touch - burlap, netting, ropes. This is what I came up with this time. The verdict is still out as to whether I am happy with it.
Materials used:
GKD image from Guiding Light set
Twine
Ribbon
Button from my grandmothers button box.
Prisma pencils
Piece of stationery
Spellbinders ovals
Kraft and Turquoise Card Stock
The sketch I used is a Craft's Meow sketch
Challenges:

Girly Happy Birthday
I haven't used this cute little girl for a long time. She is by Bugaboo. The banner and flowers are stamped and cut out with Verve stamps and die cuts. The sentiment is an old Stampin Up sentiment.
I don't especially like purples and I really don't like this Blush cardstock but together, they are not so bad.
I added Stickles to the flower centers.
Verve sets: Joyful Blooms, Fringe Flower, Ribbon Banner
Challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday - girls
Sentimental Sundays - banners
Craft Your Passion - power of three (flowers)
Your Next Stamp - anything
Speedy TV - sketch and birthday
Really Reasonable Ribbon - purple
Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards - emboss

Two More Book Marks
Here are the next two that I mentioned in my last post. This cute reading mouse is a digital by Sweet n Sassy. After I finished coloring him/her, I added some liquid pearls to the flower, caterpillar, and mouse nose.
For the next book mark, I used a Robyn Fetish image. Love this backpack for school related projects.
Buckles are done with silver ink. Faux stitching on corners to go along with the stitching on the backpack.

Back to School Fun
Nine of my ten grandkids are in school this year (if you count the one in pre-school). I always loved getting ready for school - new pencils, paper, notebooks, etc. In fact, I went to town about two weeks ago and ended up in Target and Walmart. I went crazy. I wanted to buy all the school supplies displayed. I wanted it all - really!
Well, enough of my compulsive behavior problems. I thought it would be fun to make each of the kids a book mark depicting going back to school. I have already given away four of them (forgot to take pictures!). Here are two and two in another post.
Aren't these images so cute? They are Doodle Pantry colored digitals. Saves lots of time to print them off and not have to color them? Look at their cute backpacks. You can find them HERE. There is also a Doodle Pantry Challenge to enter. Check it out.
So as you can see, these are pretty simple: print, cut, mount, add twine.

Your Word is a Light
Lighthouses - they fascinate me. East coast, West Coast, Mexico - I love them all. This is one that is a Gina K Design set called Guiding Light. The verse is also part of the set.
The shells on the bottom of the card are on a Stampin Up rollergraph. Can't remember the last time I used one of those wheels. Extra shells are Faith Greetings.
Light house is colored with Prisma pencils. The clouds and beam of light are sponged on with ink.
The sketch I used can be found here. I was asked to make up a couple cards for this sketch. Please stop by Operation Write Home and consider supporting this wonderful organization with either cards you make or financial help. So here is the sketch:
Challenges:
A Blog Named Hero - use Kraft
Incy Wincy - beach
Ribbon Carousel - celebrate summer
Your Next Stamp - anything goes
Craft 4 Eternity - water theme

Celebrate Today
Celebrate every day! I just recently had a birthday. It was pretty much just an ordinary day (although all my kids phoned to wish me a happy birthday) but that is okay that there was no big celebration. I'm not really into parties and pizzaz and besides it is always a good reminder to celebrate every day. God has given me such a great life of happiness and health. Each day should be a celebration.
I used the phrase "celebrate life" from a Verve set "Joyful Blooms". The flowers are from that set also.
The colors are a little off in the photo but after a dozen different settings and placements around the house, this one was the closest to true.
Other things I used: a piece of my new vine ribbon, the Verve Banner die cut, a few brads and gems.
Laurie Schmidlin's cards here were my inspiration.
Challenges:
Verve - use Verve
A Blog Named Hero - use Kraft
Pile It On - Bingo (gems, image, fabric

Classy Frame, Whimsy Flowers
Maybe this classy label stamp should be on a card with elegant paper and realistic flowers but my style is usually a little more casual. Thus the whimsy flowers and BG paper.
The stamp is by GKD. The DP is digital. I added some color and liquid pearls to the centers. And the red flowers are cut out with a Cuttlebug die. Liquid pearls cover the little holes in the center of the flowers.
Off to have fun. See you sometime next week.
Challenges:
A Blog Named Hero - freestyle
Love to Create - die cuts, punches
Simon Says - Bingo / diagonal with ribbon and blooms
Really Reasonable Ribbon - bling and ribbon
Wags and Whiskers - birthday
Chocolate, Coffee, Cards - emboss

Time To Relax
One of my favorite things is sitting by the ocean, watching the waves, the birds, listening to the sounds of the waves, and watching the sun set. That is the perfect evening.
Each time I use this Stampin Up stamp, I think of this verse in Psalm 46:10. They seem to go together. This verse stamp is by Verve.
It is very rare that I use the watercolor technique. I like to do it with this stamp.
Border punch by Recollections.
Liquid Pearls
Piercing template - Ornare
Challenges:

Our Daily Bread - use scripture
A Blog Named Hero - freestyle
Love to Create - punches
Party Time Tuesday - sea, ocean
Mark's Finest - back to nature
P.S. After reading Karen's comment, I decided I better tell you that the BG paper is DP. that is photographed sand.

Change Is Good
Did your mother ever tell you to wear clean underwear when you went out somewhere away from the house, just in case you were in an accident? I've always thought that was funny - as if the emergency team cares if you have clean underwear on. Anyway, I was thinking about that when I made this card. I think the image and sentiment are hilarious; my daughter just rolls her eyes. She is probably thinking I am as whacky as MY mom! LOL !

It's August 1st
How can that be? But as sad as it is to see summer flying by, August 1st also means a new release at Doodle Pantry . That always brings a smile. Laurie Wilson continues to work her magic, putting out cute digital sets each month. The set I am featuring today is from the set, Float Your Goat, which is free with purchase this month. .
Such a funny image and cute sentiments to go with it. This card is made with the outline version, but it also comes pre-colored. Here is what the whole set looks like
and don't forget to play along with the challenge at the Doodle Pantry challenge,; receive this free Cresent Moon Ants set just for playing:
Fun card to make, coloring the water and then adding some torn paper for more waves. I added Waterfall Stickles to the tops of the waves and Yellow Stickles to the sun. For some reason, burlap and twine came to mind when I was thinking of water.
Challenges:
Stampin Sisters in Christ - torn paper
Pile It On - cute
Clearly I Stamp - get wet
A Blog Named Hero - anything
