Many of you will remember the story I told last Friday (you can see the post here) about my daughters buying me new towels. I made two cards, obviously, one for each daughter. Here is the other card I did not show last week.
I used the Unity Challenge colors on this one too and the same sketch which was from who knows where. (I think I just came up with it on my own, but that was a whole week ago. You don't expect me to remember back that far, do you? ! )
Miscellaneous paper scraps. Image and sentiment are Loads of Love by Ippity. Because the faux stitches were already on the flower petals on the background paper, I made more faux stitches around the piece.
Enjoy the last day of May!

There were so many sweet comments on my blog during the OWH Bloghop. Thank you so much. And several of you become followers. WELCOME. Hope you will continue to enjoy what you see and read here. Here is a card that expresses my appreciation for your comments:
The mouse and sentiment are Doodle Pantry. The set is called Cherry Nice Mice. Here is pic of the whole set:
I made the orange slice for the sentiment by printing the sentiment on white cardstock, cutting it out in the shape of a circle, cutting the circle in half, then drawing in the lines and coloring it.
Now what all of you have been waiting for:
The name chosen randomly is Bobbis Treasure
Congratulations. I will be emailing you today.

It's Party TIme
My granddaughter spent a day with me last week. She loves to make cards. The image she chose is by Doodle Pantry. I had never used it but it is so cute. So, yesterday, I printed him up for me to color.
Don't you love him? What a great image for a child's birthday. You can find this digital here. And here is another bird digital set that Laurie is offering up in her free section.
The polka dot paper is from my Celebration stack by DCWV. You can see that some of the dots have a shimmer. What does not show in the pic is that some of the sprinkles have shimmer too because I used some Sakura Clear Star ink. The "lets party" tag was on one of the papers in my DCWV stack. I just cut it out and attached with a brad.
Sketch is at Seems a Little Sketchy
Challenges:
Pile It On -birds
Ribbon Carousel- celebrations
Really Reasonable Ribbon- red, white, blue
Wags n Whiskers - anything

Memorial Day Special
Hope you are enjoying the long weekend. It is soooo cold and windy here. It has been a great time to stay inside, do some blog hopping, and do some stamping. So many wonderful ideas on the OWH Boghop and I was inspired to do a One Page Wonder.
I made eight cards out of the one sheet of double sided designer paper. I actually found it quite challenging.
I used various stamps and digital sentiments.
Here are two cards on which I used the sentiments at Doodle Pantry. They are available here.
Also I want to mention a freebie that is today only at Doodle Pantry. I can hardly wait to use some of these on my OWH cards.
Did you hop along on the OWH Bloghop? Lots of inspiration there. 146 bogs.
Challenges:

http://operationwritehome.org/starsandstamps
Yes, it is time for the BIG Memorial Day Blog Hop.
Our assignment was to create a Thank you Card using one of the sketches at OWH
I made two cards - one for a woman and one for a guy.
This was with sketch #123. Papers are My Mind's Eye. Sentiment is Verve. Frame is GKD.
Sketch #59 turned on its side. Image, sentiments, pattern paper strip are Doodle Pantry . The three die cut stars are Verve die cut.
Each Memorial Day Bloghop I offer some blog candy. In order to qualify, please comment on this post but also on yesterday's post. That is where you can see a picture of the candy. And if you would, please mention that you would like to be included in the drawing. You have until midnight (PDT) Tuesday, May 28 to comment on both posts. I will choose a winner Wednesday morning.

Day Before THE OWH Bloghop and Candy Announcement
Yes, only one more day until the BIG Memorial Day Bloghop at Operation Write Home. Make sure you come back here so you can see the cards I made for this special weekend. You will also be directed to the other 149 bloggers. I told you it was BIG. And lastly, you can enter my own little contest for some blog candy. I am posting a pic of the candy at the bottom of this post but you must comment on tomorrow's post as well as this post in order to qualify. I would love to have you become a follower but it is not required.
But for now, how about a card because it is Friday and that means a card for Friends with Flair.
Two of my daughters went in together and bought me bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths for Mother's Day. Just because most of my towels were 20 years old, did they really think I needed new ones? heehee. So I made "Thank You" cards for them using the cute stamp set by Unity. "Loads of Love". The colors are the colors in the Unity Challenge.
Papers are My Mind's Eye.

CAS Butterfly
Well, I haven't done this technique for awhile and this stamp has not seen the light of day for ages. But I love this stamp by Stampin' Up and I like the technique. Must make a mental note to do this again soon.
Very easy. Stamp the butterfly on the card. Stamp again on white, color with colored pencils, cut, an paste.
The sentiment is also by Stampin Up.
Just a heads up - the OWH Memorial Day Blog hop is this weekend. Tomorrow I will post more details and also how you can enter for some blog candy .

Bowl of Cherries Equals A Cherry Smile
Isn't this such a cute image and sentiment.? Both are by Doodle Pantry. I used some cherry patterned paper that I have had for ages (Trying to use some of my stash) but this set comes with adorable paper. Here is a pic of the whole set:
As you can see, I used the pre-colored version but this set does come in outline form too if you want to color your own.
Have a "Cherry" day.

For One of Our Stars
A few years ago, my mom cleaned out a ton of her stuff from her crafting room. She was in her late eighties and her eyes just weren't good enough to do all the crafts she used to her. So I "inherited" hundreds of old buttons, yards and yards of lace, little wooden pieces, and many more items that I probably will never use. But one of the things I have loved is the wooden shapes. Sometimes I paint them but this time I used some distress ink on the edges and then glued a star from the Verve Starry Die on top of each star.
This card is one of the Thank You cards I made this week for one of our Heroes in the Military Service.
By the way, the HUGE Memorial Day Bloghop by Operation Write Home is happening again May 25. See the badge on my side bar and make sure you come back for that. (Rumor has it that I will have some blog candy again this year. wink!)

Sometimes You Don't Need Words
Often I make cards with no sentiments. Because most of my cards go to Operation Write Home, these cards can be used for for sending home for no specific occasion.
This was very fun to make. The three Kraft papers are from the 6 x 6 Kraft Funday Everyday Fun pack by My Mind's Eye. The pinwheels were made out of card stock with the templates by Doodle Pantry . You can find the template here. So easy to do. I printed them at the exact size (did not enlarge). Love them because they are so tiny. But of course you can make them bigger if you want. And speaking of Doodle Pantry, just a reminder of the free sentiments available today and tomorrow the 19th.
The sketch I used is Sweet Sketch Sunday
Challenges:
A Blog Named Hero - CAS
Kraft Journal - red, white, blue
Craft Your Passion - Child's Play
Simon Says Stamp and Show - a little paper

Nautical Card
Do any of you struggle with the title of each post? That is the hardest part of the post for me; coming up with a title that will catch someone's attention. Well, obviously, I could not think of anything for today so I just went with "Nautical Card" (So original ! Hope the mojo today won't be that boring!)
I do like the card, though. It is very simple but that is my favorite style.
The sentiment is Our Daily Bread Design. I masked it and then stamped the ship which is Clear Dollar Stamps. When I was doing my practice stamping, I had the ship behind the words a little more but the words mixed into the sails too much so on this piece, the ship is barely behind the words.
The compass (CDS) is embossed with copper and then I added a copper brad in the middle.
Love the wood grain designer paper. Distressed the edges a bit. Even with the knotted twine, this card is flat enough for OWH mailing. I try to take that into consideration when I am making cards, since most of my cards go to OWH. So having a simple style as my signature style isn't such a bad thing afterall. LOL
Have a great day.

Little Star
My grandson just completed his first year of baseball and received a little trophy for it. He is so proud of it so I thought I would make him a card and send it to him.
I made it as an easel card so he can stand it up next to his trophy. I have only made a few easel cards but after I made one a few weeks ago for his little sister, it was fun. So now I will send both of them . The kids were here yesterday and we had a blast walking in the woods, having a hot dog roast, playing on the swing set.
Just in case you did not see the easel card I made for my granddaughter, here it is:
I just wanted to show you this card because in the post where I showcased this card, I mentioned how red her hair is. Here is a photo that my husband took yesterday to show you the color.
Now back to the baseball card. I used a digital by Zenware. Sentiment by Verve. Cut out stars with Verve die cut. And the three blue stars are eyelets. Yes, I do get those out every once in awhile. Card base is Kraft.

Another Piece of Cake, Please
There is some celebrating going on with this digi by DearieDolls. And I love the combo of balloons and cake - two favorites at any birthday party, especially for my grandson.
I paper pieced everything! I started out thinking I would just paper piece the child because I don't color dark skin well, but then decided to piece the balloons because there again, the solid color looks better than my pencil coloring. So why not onto the cake too? The only things I colored was the shirt, his hair and tongue. Oh, and the confetti that is part of the digital image. Did you notice the little bit of twine that I used on top of his hat? Fun.
I used a dark Kraft paper for his skin and cake, various cardstock for the rest of the items. The confetti background paper is from my Celebration Stack by DCWV. Sometimes I use real ric rac but this blue one is a die cut. Sometimes that is really nice because I can just glue it on the top instead of trying to tuck the fabric behind the panel. I put glaze on the plate so it looks like glass.
If it isn't your birthday, celebrate this day anyway. It is a gift. (Psalms 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.")

Twinkle Brightly Little Star
My second post today and my second card using the Mojo Monday sketch. I used my new Verve stamps which I won recently. I am going to so much fun with these.
I sang "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to all my children and so far to most of my grandchildren; at least the ones I have rocked to sleep in my arms. I love this little twist with the words. So sweet.
So with these new stamps, I went a little crazy with the stars. But it was fun. Two scraps, embossing, and ribbon all with stars. I added some Sakura clear star to the stars in the sentiment and added a gem by the Shining Star sentiment, trying to get the shining idea.
Challenges:
A Blog Named Hero - shimmer and shine
Simon Says Stamp and Show - inspiration
Really Reasonable Ribbon - sparkle, bling
Crafts4Eternity - tic tac toe ribbon, scraps, bling

Mojo Monday Sunday
Today I am posting a couple cards with the Mojo Monday sketch.
Here is another square from the Disney paper that sat for so long staring at me.(Mickey is in previous post).
I used the Mojo Sketch:
Papers are from the DCWV Celebration stack. Plaid scrap has some embedded glitter and the polka dots have metallic dots. The striped BG piec is textured and glittery too. I think this will be a cute card for one of our deployed heroes to send to a daughter.

Mother's Day Card For My Mom
Sorry that my post is so late in the day. Grandma duties took longer than I expected.
My mom is 90 and still in relatively good health. She had more energy just a few years ago than I have now. She loves glitz , gold, and bling. You know that I have trouble with those when I am making a card. (It was easier to make the card for my MIL) She also loves antiques, lace, buttons, pearls, etc. I can handles those so that is the direction I went with this card.
The image is by Doodle Pantry. I did another card a while back (in March) arranging these tulips in a jar. I saved that arrangements so I could make more cards with it. This is what the set looks like
In that March post, I told you I would show you a photo of some of the tulip fields in the next county. Well, we didn't get down there this year but a friend of mine did, so here is one of her photos.
Incredible beauty. I look forward to the tulips every year.
Here are the last of mine from our flower beds:
Now it is on to Lilacs. I have a bouquet of those in my house and the aroma is heavenly.
But back to the card. I added a little color to the jar and also added some Clear Star Sakura pen to the outline and the words just to give a little more sparkle and interest. The tulips are pre-colored. Distressing is with two Tim Holz distress inks. The lace is some lace from my mom's sewing basket, the pearls are new even though they look old.
If I don't get a chance to visit with you before Sunday, let me wish each of you moms a wonderful Mother's Day. Children are definitely a blessing. I am super blessed to be the mom of six.

Moms - Each Have Their Own Style
It is time to make Mother's Day cards for my Mom and MIL. They have such different tastes and I try to keep that in mind when I make cards for them. This one is fairly simple - just a little bling .
The flower is from A Year Of Flowers by Gina K Designs. I stamped it three times, did some fussy cutting and the layered it. Stickles in the center. I outlined the leaf with Sakura Clear Star. The word "mom" is from another GKD set called Lovely Shelf. The paper is old SU double sided paper and I used both sides on this card. It is so unusual with the green and pink on one side and the brown and blue on another but perfect for the color challenge at Stamp and Create.
Tomorrow I will show you the card for my mom - lots of embellishment. Til then have a great day.

Barefoot Redhead
Good morning everyone. I am in super-duper moods because we are have the most beautiful weather - even hot for us who are not used to this much sun. LOL I hope we have it a long time.
Today I want to introduce you to an adorable digital image by Digi Darla Designs and also to let you know about a challenge going on at Lady Anne's. I am very honored that Lady Anne asked me to be on her design team for this new challenge.
The challenge for the month of May is to make an easel card. I have not made many but they are very easy and fun to make. This one is 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 so it can fit into an A2 envelop and not require extra postage. (Explanation: square envelopes require extra postage.)
For this card, I used Prisma Pencils to color the image. I had just spent a week with my red headed 3 year old granddaughter who LOVES life. This image reminded me of her so I made her a red head. My granddaughters hair is at least this bright - copper in the sunshine. The butterfly the little girl is looking at comes with the image. I added some flowers with an old clear stamp I have. The grass and flowers are a Your Next Stamp die cut. The polka dot butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.
I hope you will join Lady Anne and make an easel card. Winner will receive 5 digital images by Digi Darla Designs.
Today I want to introduce you to an adorable digital image by Digi Darla Designs and also to let you know about a challenge going on at Lady Anne's. I am very honored that Lady Anne asked me to be on her design team for this new challenge.

Whew! I Finished !
It was so beautiful out today but it did get a little hot and I had a granddaughter who wanted to stamp. How could I say "No" ? So I finished the OWH Virtual Card Making Party. Rather than do eight separated blog posts, I am going to post them all here at once. So get ready for a long post.
The first card was for the ODBD "missing you" challenge.
Boy image is Greeting Farm. Top banner is StudioG. Letters are handwritten and each flag is cut out then glued on to panel as if it is a banner.
#2 Card I already posted yesterday. It was Paula's challenge to make a kid's card and use a sketch.
#3 Card is Sandy's Challenge to make a romantic card and use a tutorial that has been post on OWH.
I have a confession - I forgot to use a tutorial. I was going to do wet embossing and then changed my mind. There is a great tutorial on layering and I did layer. Does that count?
Images are from Gina K Designs. Note is a die cut by Cuttlebug.
#4 Card was Nancy's Challenge to make a card using one of her scrapbook page layouts.
Images are digital. Embossing folder is Cuttlebug.
I used the last layout. For some reason I can't get that copy to come up.
#5 Card was Sketch 171
Pinwheel is a new template that Laurie made at Doodle Pantry I love them - they are so tiny.
Sentiment is Paper and Such.
#6 Card is Julie's Challenge to use a photo.
I took this photo a few years back. I had never seen a beetle like this before and I have never seen one since. (Don't mind if I ever see one again.) The sentiment is Clear Dollar Stamps.
Are you still with me?. We are almost done.
#7 Card is Joanne's Challenge - summertime
Digital image. Sentiment is The Craft's Meow
Okay and now for the bonus card which Sandy challenged us with. She made a card with a googly eyed monster. I have a cute monster in my other computer but the printer is broken so I used this image by Dearie Dolls, adding googly eyes.
Like I said, "Whew!" But I could never find how long we had to do these cards and still qualify in the challenges so I pushed myself to do all of them today. Some of the images were already colored, waiting for sketches, otherwise, I would not have been able to do them all.
Hope you enjoyed looking.
