Twitterpated

That is the word I think of when I see this cute Meljen Design digital image.

I used the Meljen sketch for this card, turning into an A2 size and turning it on its side:
Originally I was going to use more of the pink brads but used liquid pearl for the three dots in left top corner as well as centers of digi flowers and dots around the bunnies.  That worked out well after all because I did not want the brand prongs on the inside of the card.

That's it for this time.

In A Jam?

Strawberry jam.  Probably my favorite.  The strawberries in our garden are ripening which means lots of strawberry shortcake, berries and cream, and strawberry jam.  I get so excited for the berries (strawberries, blue berries, and black berries) and a little less excited about making the jam. LOL  But so love it after it is made and all those pretty jars are on the shelves.

Enough talk.  Here is a card using a new set at Diane's Daydream Designs:

Beautiful pre-colored images and papers.  The jar and the tag have empty spaces so you can put in one of the sentiments of your choice.  The sets - Preserving Sweetness, Strawberry Sweetness Tags and Brads.

This is the sketch I used :

Mini Clipboards

One of my Unity stamps reminds me of the metal clip of a clip board so I decided to use it as such.  I embossed it with Silver EP, used 2 silver brads, then attached it to a piece of Kraft card stock.  It looks like a clip board to me but I made it !   Hope it looks like one to whomever receives the card! LOL
I made several using pieces of left over DP and used the sketch at What if Wednesday for all of them.
Here are two:

Paper Makeup Stamps Wants Flowers

If you are looking for my card for the OWH Memorial Day Bloghop, please click here.

The digi makeover challenge this week at Paper Makeup Stamps is Flowers.
When I stamp with a solid rubber or clear stamp, I am usually not happy with the results.  But by using a silhouette digital image, the results are solid, clear, not dependent on ink coverage.
This flower is a digital image by Paper Makeup Stamps and is found in the Faith, Love, Hope set at the Paper Makeup Store.
The blueis stamped with a  Stampin Up stamp.  Ribbon - discard from a gift package.  Blue base is GKD BoyBlue.
The challenge at Paper Makeup Stamps begins today and ends Sunday, June 1.  Let all the flowers in bloom right now inspire you to make a card and enter it in the challenge.   See you there.

Memorial Day OWH Bloghop

Yes, It is here - the annual Memorial Day Bloghop!  This year the theme is Red, White, and Blue.
For this card I used OWH sketch #59 and Doodle Pantry digi papers and sentiment.

But it is so busy, so I toned it down and bit and made 9 more with solid backgrounds. Very basic so I was able to make them quickly.  The only embellishments I used was the tiny little star brads in the corners of the sentiment panel.

I will be writing a note of thanks inside each and sending them to our heroes in my next box to OWH.
Here is the sketch:

Hope you are enjoying the Hop.

Memorial Day Weekend - so important for us to remember those who have served and  those still serving in the military.  Operation Write Home will have it's annual Memorial Weekend Bloghop beginning Saturday morning.  I will be one of the MANY who will be participating.  Sure hope you will join us for this fun, inspiring weekend.  Lots of eye candy.  Speaking of candy - I will be giving away some blog candy next week so make sure you are a follower so you will get the details and a chance to win.
Now on to a Patriotic card I made.  It is just one of the many I have made this week while preparing for the bloghop this coming weekend.

I used the sketch at Our Daily Bread Designs, making one card with a Navy base and one with Red.  These will go in the box to be sent to OWH to thank our heroes for their service.
I stitched the striped ribon.  The stars are cut out with a Verve die. The words are cut out with my Silhouette.  The flag BG stamp is ODBD, inked with Stampin Up Real Red and Night of Navy.

Bring Your Own Sunshine

"Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine."  Isn't that a great sentiment?  Thoughts to live by.  I want to be a positive person and bring sunshine to others.

The sentiment and the sunshine are by Paper Makeup Stamps
I used a piece of patterned paper that had a "forecast" rectangle, lined it with blue.  The striped paper is another piece of patterned paper from my stash.
The sketch is My Favorite Things:

Paper Makeup Stamps would love to have you join them in this week's  Digi Makeover challenge:  use ribbon, twine, or string.   See you over there.

Good and Perfect Gifts

Flowers.  I LOVE them and so many are blooming right now.  The Rhodys are full, the Irises are out.  And since I was in the mood for flowers, I made another cards with lots of them.
This idea came from a card I saw by Jaquel Bowman using Stampin Up stamps. For my card, I used pre-colored digi flowers by Fred She Said.

The sketch I used is Tuesday Morning Sketch:
I cut about an inch off the right edge before attaching the flowers so the front is narrower than the back.

For Mom, Just Because

First time using this cute digi by From the Heart.  Don't you remember picking a flower (or weed) and bringing it in to your mom?  Every child does.  In fact one of my daughters (28) was visiting yesterday and picked me a bouquet of  "flowers" (weeds) and gave them to me as a bit of humor, reminiscing  the days when she would bring them to me with such joy, knowing that I would love them and display them in a vase.  A word to you young moms - take time for things like that.  Go along with their joy and their childishness.  It is over waaayyy too soon.

So I made this card, thinking about those years so long ago and even if I don't give this one to my mom, I know that maybe one of my grandchildren will want to give it to their mom sometime.  They like to make a card to give, or use one that I have made.
I used the sketch at i (heart) sketches and was going to put on the sentiment "just bee-cause" but decided to put that on the inside.
The piece of patterned paper is from Doodle Pantry.  Stamped bee in right corner and stamped with Versamark on the card is from a little Close to my Heart set.
Here is the sketch:
The image is colored with pencils and to make him/her look like a girl, I added a flower brad in her hair.

Other challenges:
Papertakes - pastels
Digistamps 4 joy - anything
Simon Wednesday - use dies (circle of patterned paper)
Sister Act - anything
Frosted Designs - mom and photo imspiration

Masculine Cards Can Be Fun to Make

Many of us struggle with making cards for guys, but Diane's Daydream Designs is helping to make it easier for us.  Diane has several new sets to use for masculine cards.  You can go here to see them.
I started with Kraft as the base - always great for guy cards.  I love these colors in the set of pre-colored images.  Also used the digi paper that matches the tie and colors perfectly.  You can't see it in the photo but I added  piecing (layer) to the collar, tie, and pocket.  Can you believe I have buttons that match this chartreuse paper?
The sketch I used is at Kraft Journal

My Love of Pinwheels

When I was a child, I was enthralled with pinwheels.  Not that I ever possessed very many but I whenever I did get one, I just loved blowing on them and watching them spin.  I have to admit, I still love them.
Doodle Pantry has a set of pinwheels - just print them on whatever paper then cut them out.
I didn't have any double sided paper that was sunny or happy so I made my own.  I printed the pinwheels onto the patterned paper.  Then after I cut them out, I sponged on the yellow and apricot so that those colors would show when I did the folding.
Why did I make this card?  When I saw the sketch at Sketch Saturday, I knew immediately that I wanted to use pinwheels instead of flowers. And for the fun of it, I put them into a flower pot that I just cut out by hand.  Here is the sketch:
The cloud paper is also by Doodle Pantry.  Grass is a die cut (Your Next Die) done with my Cuttlebug.
Don't the pinwheels just make you feel happy?   I guess there is still a lot of little girl in me.

The Hurrier I Go

"The hurrier I go, the behinder I ."  It is still Monday morning but I am already behind in this week!  Thus the late post.

I made this card for the Paper Makeup Challenge - Sparkle.  I don't do many cards with sparkle because of the restrictions for OWH, like no glitter, no metalic ink, etc.  But tiny gems are okay and I printed the fish onto metalic paper.  The layer the fish is glued onto is embossed and has a sparkle to it (a sparkle that does not rub off).
As I said, the Digi Makeover Challenge at Paper Makeup is sparkle.  We would love to see what you come up with for this challenge.

I will be entering the following challenges:
Through the Craft Room Door - anything
Paper Take - anything
Penny's Paper Crafting - two or more patterned papers
Sister Act - anything
Digistmaps4joy - depict water
Chocolate, Coffee, and Cards - squares and circles

Four Cards, Three Sketches

When I started to make some cards this morning, I had every intention of making multiples using one sketch.  But after I printed up several pages of these cute owls that you can find at Diane's Daydream Designs, I changed my mind and used three sketches.  Making cards is all about having fun, right?  And this was fun to change it up a bit.
So here is the first sketch, from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and two cards with that sketch:

Second sketch is found at Die Cuttin Divas:

And the third sketch is from Mojo Monday:

Can you see how fun this morning was?
As I said earlier, the owls are from Diane's Daydream Designs.  The sets are Birthday Bash and Owl Always Love You.  All the owls used are pre-colored.  I added liquid glaze to the eyes and the digi brad (on second card).
All these cards plus the others I made this morning with these sketches will be going to OWH to thank our deployed heroes for their service.  The sentiments are from Diane's Daydream Design  Owl Always Love You.

Can't Get Any Easier

While scrolling through some of the Meljen designs, I found this one.
Now how cute is this?
I've been telling you that I am making more multiples of cards instead of just making one of a kind.  Guess what category this falls into?
I just love the simplicity.  Print, add a bit of color, layer, and done. Seriously, I made one in 4 minutes. And it could go to a man, woman, or child.  So I made up a dozen to put in my box that is going to OWH.   Yes, I am excited about this one.

Seeing that there is nothing more to say about this card, I'll keep the post short and wish you a great day.

The Eyes Have It

Time for a birthday card for a young grandson.  For this card I used a digital image, sentiment and paper from Doodle Pantry.  The set is call Monster Mash.  I like it because the monsters are cute and not gruesome or scary.

Following the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketch:
I was originally going to put on buttons where indicated on the sketch,  but after adding googly eyes to the monster, I used some colored googly eyes as embellishments.
Speaking of eyes - look at this party idea from pinterest.  Cute by not too scary:

Back to the card: the image is pre-colored.  I love the paper.  It seemed like the white on the right side was too plain so I swiped the ink pad on the edges (DTP).
Want to see the inside?

Thanks for looking. Hope you have a monster big day too but not too scary.

Challenges:
Kraft Journal - pinterest inspired

Sister Act - anything
What if Wednesday - for the guys
Divas That Cut Paper  - embellishments

Unusual Sketch But Lovely Image

Do you ever find sketches that you want to try but they just don't turn out for you?  I lean toward symmetry so I often bomb out with offset pieces and unusual sketches.  I won't tell you how many attempts I made with this sketch, but this card turned out well enough to show you.  The image and sketch are at From the Heart.

The image, Pail of Flowers,  was colored with pencils.  The designer papers are from my stash which I have had for years.  I debated ribbon or twine but twine seems to go with the casual feel of the card.

Thanks for looking and keep crafting.

Challenges:
From the Heart - sketch
Word Art Wednesday - anything
Sister Act - anything
Stamp and Create - flowers
Brown Sugar - use 2 patterned papers

May Day ! May Day !

Not the distressing kind of SOS call. The wonderful Spring kind as in the first day of May.  And with a new month comes a new Doodle Pantry Release.

If this image looks familiar, you are correct,  you have seen it before.  But Laurie redid this set and added BEAUTIFUL color versions of the drawings.  Here is a pic of the set:
So now you can have all the line images, color images, sentiments,  and papers all in one set.
There are some other new, fantastic sets and you can find them at the Doodle Pantry Store.  There is also a 30% on all the new sets so after you have loaded up your cart, make sure you use the discount code.

I think this sentiment is so cute and doesn't it just look like he is thinking this with that raised eyebrow?  You can almost hear him.
I used the Silhouette to cut out the thought bubble and backed it with another larger cut so it would stand out.
One more thing - the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge starts today, too, at noon Eastern Time.  You are going to love the featured set.

Okay, that's all for this time.  Have a wonderful May Day.

Challenges:

Simon Monday - yellow
Craft Your Passion - things that fly
